Orlando hosts two major bowl games

With the college football bowl season about to kick off, the city of Orlando is pleased to bring not one, but two exciting bowl games to the Citrus Bowl Stadium.

On December 28, Orlando will play host city to the Champs Sports Bowl between Boston College and Michigan State University.  Kickoff is 5 pm.  Then, on January 1, 2008, the Capital One Bowl pits the University of Florida Gators against the University of Michigan Wolverines.  That’s two games in 4 days for college football fans!

Orlando has a long history of college football tradition - dating back to the first Orlando bowl game in 1947 between Catawba College and Maryville College.  Back then, the Citrus Bowl had less than 14,000 seats.  Now, 60 years later, today’s expanded stadium will bring more than 70,000 fans to the Citrus Bowl for each of these football contests.
