Ride, rock and rejoice at Walt Disney World in Orlando this Sept. 10-11 when the 2010 edition of Night of Joy returns to the Magic Kingdom theme park.
Walt Disney World has announced the lineups for its popular contemporary Christian music event that’s returning to Magic Kingdom this fall after a brief move to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In over 27 years, the event has played to a combined audience of more than one million people.
The event offers up many of the most popular names and most powerful voices in contemporary Christian rock, pop and gospel. Five of the 15 exciting acts tentatively scheduled to appear this year are new to the festival and each will play on only one night of the two-night event. Please note that Night of Joy requires a special ticket after regular theme park hours. Tickets go on sale May 1, 2010.
Event hours are 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and while the music is the main attraction of the night, several of the most popular theme park attractions will also remain open during the concerts.
Night of Joy artists will perform on several stages throughout the Magic Kingdom, offering guests a chance to choose from different musical performances and locations while enjoying the other attractions between acts. Magic Kingdom offers up seven imaginative lands throughout the park and open attractions will include Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Splash Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Scheduled headliners for Sept. 10 include Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Casting Crowns, BarlowGirl and Francesca Battistelli plus Night of Joy newcomers Group 1 Crew, Tenth Avenue North and Sidewalk Prophets.
The following night, Sept. 11, musical guests include mercyme, Third Day, Family Force 5, Smokie Norful in addition to first time Night of Joy participants Lecrae and Day of Fire.
Night of Joy is a separate ticket event and tickets are valid for entry during specific event hours only for the date purchased.
